Rainforest Tour Victoria Falls Activities

The Victoria Falls Rainforest

At the heart of every trip to Victoria Falls is, of course, a visit to the rainforest which offers spectacular views of the mighty Victoria Falls or “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (The Smoke That Thunders). Stop off at 15 impressive viewpoints along the way, and keep your eyes peeled for an array of small wild animals such as baboons and buck – you are guaranteed an experience of a lifetime! The rainforest is a mere 25-minute stroll or 3-minute drive from Victoria Falls Restcamp and Lodges and should be your first activity when visiting the town. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, pack your ID document or passport and don’t forget a raincoat, umbrella or a plastic bag to keep your valuables dry. These can be rented from the curio shop as you enter the rainforest.

Scenic Flights

Taking to the skies and viewing the breath-taking Victoria Falls from above is one of the most awe-inspiring and sought-after activities in Victoria Falls. The most popular and highly recommended option is called the “Flight of Angels” – a term originally used by David Livingstone when he first wrote about the area surrounding the Falls. He described this as “…scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight”. This tour offers a scenic helicopter ride over the Natural World Wonder, with sweeping views of both Zambia and Zimbabwe. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you could also embark on a 15 or 30-minute microlight flight to really feel the wind in your hair as well as the spray from the mighty Falls! All flights are available daily, 365 days a year.

The life-giving waters of the Zambezi River offer visitors an array of activities to enjoy and enough to keep you busy for days on end! The most famous activity for those adrenaline junkies among us is the white-water rafting experience, which is considered one of the best in the world. The time of year and water levels will affect the length of the excursion so speak to our booking agent upon arrival to find out.

Devil’s Pool as it is ominously known is another experience not for the faint-hearted but renowned as one of the most exhilarating experiences available in Africa. Located right on the edge of the Victoria Falls, you take a dip in the world’s ultimate infinity pool. Speak to our activities desk to organise this experience for you if you’re brave enough.

For those looking to sit back and relax, there are a number of peaceful river cruises throughout the day and for a variety of budgets. The Ra-Ikane River Cruise is a visitor favourite as the small luxury boats offer a more intimate and personalised experience in the style of a by-gone era. The birdwatching cruise is also a must-do for any twitchers visiting Victoria Falls.
